This is one of the most significant initiatives we are exploring to maximize the potential of XDCâs subnets, focusing on making the blockchain experience more accessible and efficient for users. We have already successfully utilized subnets and recognize the numerous advantages they offer, such as:
The same speed as the mainnet, but with free acquisition slots for exclusive use;
The ability to create authorized networks for greater privacy;
Full control over masternodes;
Control over the issuance of the networkâs main currency, allowing adjustments to the genesis.json file before network deployment.
The introduction of prepaid gas contracts brings a series of benefits that further expand the applications of blockchain technology. For instance, a logistics company could leverage this feature to streamline IoT device integration, enabling automated payments for shipping milestones without requiring manual intervention or additional Gas payments from end users.

In future IoT contracts, the ability to prepay the Gas fee greatly simplifies the integration of IoT devices with blockchain;
Easier use of ERC20 tokens, as token holders do not need to possess the networkâs native currency;

It is important to note that despite these advantages, challenges remain, such as the reliance on the native currency for transactions in wallets like Metamask. Without the native currency, Metamask does not complete the transaction as it considers the Gas balance before sending it.
